TZM0745A Product Introduction

TZM0745A series MZO (Monocular Zoom Objective, a monocular continuously zooming objective) adopts a modular design concept with dual-end parallel optical paths, offering superior optical performance and excellent customization options. It is specifically designed for machine vision inspection, industrial inspection, scientific research, and educational applications.

The TZM0745A series MZO is composed of three basic modules: the continuously zooming main body (which already includes the auxiliary objective and TV lens), the mounting adapter, and the optional module. In addition to the continuously zooming main body, the other modules can be selected by the user according to application requirements. When paired with a camera module (optional), the TZM0745A series MZO can form a digital continuously zooming microscope system.

The standard configuration for the TZM0745A series MZO is TZM0745A-W100-TV100-A50, offering a zoom range of 0.7X to 4.5X with a zoom ratio of up to 6.5X. The main features of the TZM0745A series MZO are as follows:

  • The standard model TZM0745A-W100-TV100-A50 offers a zoom range from 7X to 4.5X.
  • High Zoom Ratio: 5X
  • Large NA: 0.018–0.078 (using a 1X auxiliary objective)
  • High Resolution: 6 µm – 4.3 µm (using a 1X auxiliary objective)
  • Large Field of View: 25 mm – 34.28 mm
  • Large Image Plane: Maximum compatible sensor size is 2/3 inch (using a 1X TV lens)
  • Working distance: 5 mm – 160 mm
  • Maintains focus during zooming
  • Compatible with infinity-corrected microscope objectives (both biological and metallurgical microscopes)
  • Compact dimensions: 150 mm x 40 mm (standard model)
  • Optional auxiliary objectives available in 50X, 0.75X, 1.00X, 1.50X, and 2.00X magnifications
  • Optional TV lenses available in 50X, 0.75X, 1.00X magnifications

TZM0745A Series MZO Naming Rules

TZM0745A

The TZM0745A series MZO adopts a finite conjugate optical system design, as shown in the left image. The five basic modules of the TZM0745A series MZO are: the continuously zooming main body, the auxiliary objective, the TV lens, the mounting adapter, and the optional module.

The final naming method for the TZM0745A series MZO is to separate the names of each module with a hyphen (“-”), forming a composite name that clearly indicates the MZO’s specifications. For example: TZM0745Aaa-Wbbb-TVccc-Add

For instance, if you choose the main body module TZM0745ATD, a 1.00X auxiliary objective (W100), a 0.50X TV lens (TV050), and a 50mm mounting adapter (A50), then the continuously zooming microscope objective will be named: TZM0745ATD-W100-TV050-A50

Currently available TZM0745Aaa modules: TZM0745A, TZM0745AT, TZM0745AD, TZM0745ATD;

  • Currently available Wbbb modules: W100, W050, W075, W150, and W200;
  • Currently available TVccc modules: TV100, TV050, TV075, TV150, and TV200;
  • Currently available Add modules: A50 and A45;
  • Other magnifications for the auxiliary objective, TV lens, and mounting adapter can be customized as needed.

Purchase and Matching

The parameters for different configurations of the TZM0460 series MZO are listed in the table below. You can determine the required combination by following these steps:

  • Determine the possible 1) FOV and 2) object working distance, then select the auxiliary objective accordingly.
  • When using an infinity objective with a 705 specification, choose the objective adapter that converts M26x0.705 to M20x0.705.
  • Based on 1) sensor size (in 1/x inches), 2) imaging diagonal, 3) imaging width, and 4) imaging height, determine the camera’s imaging circle size and select a TV lens.
  • Choose a 45mm or 50mm mounting adapter.
  • Select the LED ring light module for reflective illumination.
  • If necessary, select a coaxial illumination module.
  • If needed, choose a transmitted illumination module.
  • Select the appropriate camera.

Module 2 is the interchangeable auxiliary objective, which is directly mounted via threads to the bottom of the continuous zoom main body. Its code is Wbbb, where “bbb” indicates the magnification of the auxiliary objective. Different auxiliary objectives with various magnifications are used to change the overall magnification of the TZM0745A series MZO, and their working distances also differ. For example, compared to an auxiliary objective W100 with 1.00X magnification and an 80mm working distance, a 0.50X auxiliary objective W050 will reduce the overall magnification by half while extending the working distance to about 160mm. The optical parameters of the auxiliary objectives are listed in the table below.

Module 3 is the TV lens, which is interchangeable and mounts via threads to the top of the continuous zoom main body. Its code is TVccc, where “ccc” indicates the magnification of the TV lens. It is mainly used to match image sensors of different sizes. For example, compared to a TV lens TV100 with 1.00X magnification, a TV lens TV050 with 0.50X magnification will match an image sensor that is half the size, while the field of view remains largely unaffected. The TV lens parameters are listed in the table below.

Module 4 is the mounting adapter, used for stands of different diameters, and is mounted between the continuous zoom main body modules. Its code is Add, where “dd” represents the mounting diameter, available in both 45mm and 50mm options. The installation method with the stand is shown in the diagram below.

The optional modules mainly include ring light modules (both standard and polarized ring lights) and a coaxial illumination module (consisting of a coaxial illuminator and LED point light source). The details of the optional modules are shown in the table below.
