TZM0660 Product Introduction

TZM0660 series MZO (Monocular Zoom Objective, single-tube continuous zoom objective) adopts a modular design concept with dual-end parallel optical paths, offering superior optical performance and high configurability. It is specially designed for applications in machine vision inspection, industrial inspection, scientific research, and education.

The standard configuration of the TZM0660 series MZO is TZM0660-W3100-TV3100-A50, and its features are as follows:

  • 0.6X-6.0X continuous zoom with a zoom ratio of 10X
  • Large NA: 0.015-0.09 (using 1X auxiliary objective)
  • High resolution: 18.3µm-3.1µm (using 1X auxiliary objective)
  • Large field of view: 1.19mm-57.14mm
  • Maximum compatible image sensor size: 2/3 inch (using 1X TV lens)
  • Working distance: 56mm-248mm
  • Adjustable back focus, maintaining focus during zoom
  • Adjustable image center, with the image center remaining unchanged during zoom
  • Can be used with infinity-corrected biological or metallurgical microscope objectives
  • Compact dimensions: 194mm x 40mm (standard version)
  • Optional auxiliary objectives available, with magnifications of 0.35X, 0.50X, 0.75X, 1.00X, and 1.50X
  • Optional TV lenses available, with magnifications of 0.50X, 0.75X, and 1.00X

TZM0660 Series MZO Naming Rules

The TZM0660 series MZO consists of five basic modules, as shown in the diagram on the left. These five modules are: the continuous zoom main body, the auxiliary objective, the TV lens, the mounting adapter, and the optional modules. Except for the continuous zoom main body, users can choose the other modules according to their application requirements.


The final naming method for the TZM0660 series MZO is to concatenate the names of each module with hyphens to form a composite name, which helps distinguish the parameters of the MZO. For example, if you choose the continuous zoom main body TZM0660D, a 1.00X auxiliary objective W3100, a 0.50X TV lens TV3050, and a 50mm mounting adapter A50, then the continuous zoom microscope objective is named: TZM0660D-W3100-TV3050-A50

Currently available TZM0660a modules: TZM0660 (standard type, where "a" is omitted) and TZM0660D (D indicates fixed zoom).

Currently available W3bbb modules: W3100, W3035, W3050, W3075, W3150;

Currently available TV3ccc modules: TV3100, TV3050, TV3075;

Currently available Add modules: A50 and A45;

The optional modules mainly include ring light modules (standard ring light and polarizing ring light) and coaxial illumination modules (comprising a coaxial illuminator and an LED point light source).

Auxiliary objectives, TV lenses, and mounting adapters with other magnifications can be customized as needed.

Purchase and Matching

The parameters corresponding to different configurations of the TZM0660 series MZO are listed in the table below. You can determine the required combination by following these steps:

  • Determine the possible 1) FOV and 2) object-side working distance, and then select the appropriate auxiliary objective.
  • If using an infinity-corrected microscope objective with a 705 design, choose the adapter from M26x0.705 to M20x0.705.
  • Based on 1) the sensor size (1/x inch), 2) the diagonal length of the imaging area, 3) the imaging width, and 4) the imaging height, determine the size of the camera’s imaging circle and select the appropriate TV lens.
  • Choose a 45mm or 50mm mounting adapter.
  • Select an LED ring light module for reflective illumination.
  • If necessary, select a coaxial illumination module.
  • If necessary, select a transmitted illumination module.
  • Select the compatible camera.

Module 1 is the continuous zoom body, which is the main component of the TZM0660 series MZO. Its code is TZM0660a; here, "TZM0660" indicates the code for the continuous zoom body, and "a" represents the auxiliary function code of the continuous zoom body. Module 2 is the interchangeable auxiliary objective, which is connected by a threaded interface to the lower end of Module 1 (the continuous zoom body). Its code is W3bbb, where "3" represents the product series number and "bbb" represents the magnification of the auxiliary objective. Auxiliary objectives of different magnifications are used to change the overall magnification of the TZM0660 series MZO; their working distances also differ. For example, compared with the auxiliary objective W3100 with 1.00X magnification and a working distance of 86mm, the auxiliary objective W3050 with 0.50X magnification will reduce the overall magnification of the TZM0660 series MZO by half, and the working distance will extend from 86mm to approximately 174mm; the optical parameters of the auxiliary objective are shown in the table below.

Module 3 is the interchangeable TV lens, which is connected by a threaded interface to the upper part of Module 1 (the continuous zoom body). Its code is TV3ccc, where "3" represents the series number and "ccc" represents the magnification of the TV lens. It is mainly used to match image sensors of different sizes. For example, compared with the TV3100 with 1.00X magnification, the TV3050 with 0.50X magnification will halve the size of the image sensor it matches, while the field of view remains essentially unaffected; the TV lens parameters are shown in the table below.

* TV lenses with high magnification can also be paired with smaller image sensors, although this will reduce the overall field of view of the MZO.

Module 4 is the mounting adapter, which is used to adapt to mounts of different diameters and fits around the continuous zoom body (Module 1). Its code is "Add", where "dd" represents the mounting diameter, available in either 45mm or 50mm. The mounting method of the adapter with the mount is shown in the diagram below.

The optional modules mainly include ring light modules (both standard and polarized ring lights) and a coaxial illumination module (consisting of a coaxial illuminator and LED point light source). The details of the optional modules are shown in the table below.
