S3CMOS Series

Product Introduction

The S3CMOS series represents a 23.2 mm standard eyepiece tube direct-insertion microscopy camera with simple and compact structure (S = Simple & Small). It can be directly inserted into monocular/binocular educational microscope eyepiece tubes to capture intermediate images, enabling rapid digitization. The camera utilizes USB3.0 high-speed data connectivity for smoother preview and acquisition, making it suitable for classroom demonstrations, experimental documentation, and general microscopy imaging.

Through 23.2→30 mm and 23.2→30.75 mm adapter sleeves, compatibility extends to additional tube specifications and enables digital conversion of stereo microscopes. The built-in Ultra-Fine color processing engine performs demosaicing, auto exposure/gain control, one-click white balance, and color/gamma/contrast processing directly in the camera, reducing host system load while delivering natural and consistent color presentation. Included ToupView/ToupLite software and cross-platform SDK support facilitate system integration and secondary development.

In-Depth Technology Overview

Eyepiece-Form Plug-and-Play Design

The 23.2 mm housing fits directly into a standard microscope eyepiece tube, enabling rapid digitization. Optional rings adapt to 30 mm and 31.75 mm ports. This convenience makes S3CMOS ideal for upgrading legacy mono and stereo microscopes without mechanical modification.

Optimized CMOS Sensor Architecture

Aptina sensors balance resolution and sensitivity, offering clean imagery with minimal fixed-pattern noise. The wide dynamic range supports samples with significant brightness variation, while USB3.0 ensures sufficient bandwidth for streaming and capture.

Real-Time Image Automation

Built-in auto exposure, auto white balance, and auto gain functions simplify operation for education and routine inspections. Users can switch to manual adjustment for demanding research tasks, tailoring the image to specific staining, illumination, or quantitative needs.

Software Ecosystem & Cross-Platform SDK

ToupView software delivers live measurement, annotation, fluorescence pseudocolor, HDR, and focus stacking. Developers have access to Windows, Linux, macOS, and Android SDKs with support for C/C++, C#, Python, DirectShow, and TWAIN, simplifying integration into wider imaging systems.
