Precision hardware timingIn-Depth Technology Overview
Sony ExView HAD CCD Technology
ExView HAD sensors extend quantum efficiency from visible to near-infrared wavelengths (approximately 380–1000 nm), dramatically improving low-light performance. Optimized photodiode structures reduce noise from stray light, making EXCCD cameras ideal for fluorescence, darkfield, and astronomy applications that demand heightened sensitivity.
Optimized USB2.0 Data Pipeline
A dedicated buffer and tuned USB2.0 protocol maintain stable streaming even at high resolutions. Typical models deliver around 15 fps at 1360 × 1024 and up to 72 fps at 640 × 480, providing responsive live view and capture. The single-cable design supplies both power and data, simplifying mobile and laboratory setups.
FPGA-Based Long Exposure Control
Integrated FPGA timing supports exposures from 0.06 ms to 1 hour. Hardware-level control keeps long exposures stable, minimizing drift and accumulated noise. This capability is crucial for capturing extremely weak fluorescence, luminescence, or other faint signals that require extended integration.
Ultra-Fine Color Processing
The Ultra-Fine color engine handles tone, saturation, and gamma correction in hardware. Output is available in 8-bit or 12-bit formats, with 12-bit delivering 4096 grayscale levels for wider dynamic range. ROI white balance and manual Temp/Tint adjustment help adapt to diverse illumination environments.
Robust Fanless Mechanical Design
CNC-machined aluminum housings provide excellent rigidity and passive heat dissipation. The fanless design eliminates vibration and acoustic noise, which is critical for long exposures and high magnification imaging. A standard C-mount enables seamless integration with microscopes, telescopes, and custom optical assemblies.
