ECMOS Series

Product Introduction

The ECMOS series features compact C-mount USB2.0 microscopy cameras equipped with Sony Exmor/Exmor R/Exmor RS back-illuminated CMOS sensors (model dependent), delivering high sensitivity and low readout noise performance even under low-light conditions. Through 480 Mbit/s USB2.0 connectivity, these cameras offer plug-and-play operation with excellent compatibility, making them ideal for educational applications, routine scientific documentation, and general microscopy imaging.

The built-in Ultra-Fine color processing engine performs real-time demosaicing, auto exposure/gain control, one-click white balance, and color/gamma/contrast adjustments directly in the camera, reducing host system load while improving preview stability. Resolution coverage spans approximately 1.2–8.3 MP with support for 8/12-bit output (model dependent) and ROI/windowing capabilities, providing flexible balance between resolution, frame rate, and bandwidth. The metal CNC construction (aluminum/zinc-aluminum alloy) ensures durability, while the included ToupView/ToupLite software and cross-platform SDK (Windows/Linux/macOS/Android) facilitate system integration and secondary development.

In-Depth Product Introduction

Sony Exmor Back-Illuminated Sensor Technology

Features Sony Exmor/Exmor R/Exmor RS series back-illuminated CMOS sensors with the photosensitive layer positioned above the circuit layer, significantly improving photoelectric conversion efficiency. Combined with dual-layer noise reduction technology, clear, low-noise images can be obtained even under extremely low illumination conditions, particularly suitable for fluorescence microscopy and other low-light applications, with sensitivity improved by over 200% compared to traditional sensors.

Column-Parallel A/D Conversion Architecture

Innovative column-parallel A/D conversion technology equips each pixel column with an independent analog-to-digital converter, achieving true parallel readout. This architecture not only significantly reduces readout noise (typical value <2e⁻) but also dramatically lowers power consumption, enabling the camera to maintain stable low-temperature operation even during extended use, ensuring consistent image quality.

Ultra-Fine Color Processing Engine

The proprietary Ultra-Fine color engine employs advanced color science algorithms with precise color matrix transformation and adaptive white balance technology to ensure accurate reproduction of true sample colors under different light source conditions. For applications requiring extremely high color accuracy such as biological tissues and pathological sections, the Ultra-Fine engine provides professional-grade color performance.

Flexible Imaging Control Functions

Supports real-time 8/12-bit depth switching, with 8-bit mode suitable for routine observation and storage, and 12-bit mode providing 4096 gray levels to meet quantitative analysis requirements. Arbitrary ROI functionality allows users to select regions of interest, dramatically improving frame rates while maintaining high resolution. Wide exposure time range (0.105 ms - 15 s) ensures complete coverage from high-speed dynamics to long-term accumulative exposure.

Industrial-Grade All-Metal Housing

Features an integrated housing precision-machined from zinc-aluminum alloy CNC, combining lightweight and high-strength characteristics. Unique heat dissipation fin design achieves completely passive cooling without fans, completely eliminating the impact of mechanical vibration on imaging. USB 2.0 interface is plug-and-play with single-cable power design simplifying system integration. Comprehensive multi-platform SDK support allows the camera to easily integrate into various application systems.
